Lucas Borges received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering by the University of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2014. During his undergraduate studies, he spent one year as an exchange student at Union College, United States. He received his M.Sc. degree by the University of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2015. His Ph.D. degree was obtained at the same institution, in 2017. During his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Borges participated on a sandwich Ph.D. program between the University of São Paulo, Brazil and the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Borges also worked as a Post-Doctorate at Tampere University of Technology, Finland. Currently, Dr. Borges is a Post-Doctorate at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, Brazil. His research interests include physics of x-ray imaging, breast cancer screening, image reconstruction, statistical noise modeling, image quality assessment, image quality improvement, filter design, virtual clinical trials, among others.
